Chile ~week 33

This week was a good one as usual, but in this time of year, the allergies kill me, so wish me luck as my head explodes! haha. 

well heres my week!

Monday: after pday we had a noche de hogar with some of our investigators.. so that was good.

Tuesday: We had district meeting, and my comp had to do something during that timeso i was able to lead a lot of it, which was pretty cool. we went to a girls house to teach a little more english, then set a baptismal date with her, but she doesnt want to get baptized, we still need to ask her why. then at night we had mission correlation and our mission leader bought us pizza, so that was good. 

Wednesday: the president came to our church that morning so we had to open it and help him get everything set up for a reunion with the hermanas. i heard trump won, woohoo! haha everyone here is pretty upset, i have to pretend to be sad cause everybody is way upset ans always asks me about it, especially my comp, hes really worried about mexico now. we went to go visit a new, he wasnt there, so we talked with his mom and grandma, his grandma is 95 and isnt doing so well, we gave her a blessing then we left. 

Thursday: we had an intercambio trio type thing. the zone leaders split and went with the district leaders, so that was fun, Elder Castro from colombia was with us.  we went to our investigators grandmas house but she was home alone, so we talked on her porch aand sang her a hymn. or we tries, we all started laughting during the hymn so that was fun.. haha. there is a nations festival on saturday so we went with one of the senior couples and the owner of Jacks(american food place) to see what itll be like. the owner of jacks lived in florida for 19 years, so he knows really good english. 

Friday: i was pretty sick, i had so much allergies, it was bad... but i didnt want to stay home so we went out and worked. that morning we went to a special needs school and sang with the kids as a service activity! it was pretty fun. we tried to do a bit of church tours which was hard cause there are so many people and theyre all "in a hurry". we came home cause someone came home to fix our water heater, it wasnt working very good and kept exploding, so we told our home owner and hired someone to fix it. and then our home owner told us we need to find a new house before the end of the year, so we will see how this goes... 

Saturday: we went and chopped wood for someone in the morning, then afterwards we got invited to go to the nations festival which was pretty cool, we represented the united states, and got a bunch of questions about trump. the nations  festival was cool, there were 13 countries there and a bunch of people, we got some pretty good references from that aswell. and a few people wanted to take pictures with me, what can i say, a gringo in south america, gotta take a picture! hahaha we also were able to give 2 blessings.

Sunday: we had church, and i had to pass the sacrament which was weird cause every ward does it different. but church was good cause juan came, which means this saturday we are going to have a baptism!! woohoo!! there was also a member from idaho in our ward, he was down here for work, so that was pretty cool. 

Today: we had our ward activity and did a white elephant, me and my comp won cookies, so that was pretty fun, then we went to jacks, since we helped with the nations festival we got free food! so thats cool, its also been pretty rainy, so thats soo lameee!! haha

Chile ~week 32

Hey everyone another good week here in temuco! but its getting really really hot down here, the sun down here is much stronger, cause theres no ozone!

but heres my week:

Monday: we ate papa johns, which was pretty good, american pizza, and it rained a bunch!! that was pretty lame! and then at night it was halloween, so we gave a bit of candy to the few kids that passed by!

Tuesday: we went to a less actives house, and hes a crazy guy, he said he can speak with spirits and dead people, so that was a bit weird... it rained a bit this day, so it wasnt too bad. 

Wednesday: we had an intercambio cause my comp and the other district leader had to do an inter cambio with the zone leaders. so it was me and elder vargas again, and we had to run 2 sectors, so it was a bit busy. we had a noche de hogar, where we taught about the book of mormon, and the investigator we taught seemed to understand it.. and then last minute we had to make jack o lanters for the zone activity, the leaders told us the day before, so we had to make something real fast...

Thursday: we had Zone meeting and presented our jack o lantern. we had lunch with the old mission president and his wife, they made us this weird dish thats native to here in temuco. so that was pretty cool. we had another appointment, and we talked about american politics, and that was the first time i ever heard someone say something good about trump here in south america... but its a bit sad, i cant vote... i wouldve had to sign up awhile ago to recieve a mail in ballot. 

Friday: there was a black friday event going on in Lider, so we went in the morning to see if we could fin anything good, but it was all electronic stuff. so as missionaries didnt serve us good at all. it was another very hot day, its burning up down here. i taught an english class to a young girl that will probably be a future investigatr. so that was weird my first time teahing english... which wasnt good cause my english is going away, spanish is killing me.

Saturday: our water heater in our house is a bit bad, so our house owner came and said hes not gonna fix anything, then he said the best thing we could do it move out, cause he doesnt want anything to do with helping us. he was kinda a mean guy. we started our fast, then we had to stop by lider on the way home to buy food to make to break our fast the next day, cause we didnt have a member sign up to give us lunch.

Sunday: we had church, we had 2 investigators show up, and they both have a baptism date for the 19th! there was also a member from cañete that showed up, so that was pretty cool to see someone i alreadyy knew! but after chruch we got home to make lunch, to make tacos, my comp taught me. and we opened the chicken and it was bad, we bought it the night before, and it was bad. so we ran to lider real fast(on sunday) to return it and get another one. then we ran home again and made food, and we were so hungry cause we were still basically fasting. then we did weekly planning cause we didnt have time the earlier days. then at night we visited my comps recent convert again, which was cool, and we watched the joseph smith movie, so that was good.

Today: we bought food this morning, then we went to an american food place where i got a burger(for once) and a milkshake!

well thats all my week! it was good!

Chile ~week 31

well this week was a good one, new area, new comp. its all so great!! we have a bunch of american stuff hre!!

Well heres my week!:

Tuesday: we had to wake up at 4:30 to be able to catch my bus on time. so we had to take all my suitcases to the bus stop and wait for the bus. we arrived in concepcion and were there for a half hour. then we went to temuco. which was like 4.5 hours away. then in the terminal in temuco, i ran into my trainer there, so we took a pic. then we went to the house, i unpacked a bit, then we left to teach a very humble family. then that night we bought pizza, american pizza, cause i arrived there.

Wednesday: District meeting, my comp is district leader. we had a suprise intercambio, i went to the sector called lautaro, with elder guedes from brazil. and hes a young misisonary, and has a bunch of energy, hes a bit crazy.. haha. we walked A LOT!! it was crazy how much we walked... and it way WAY HOT!! i heard that this city gets way hot... lucky me! haha

Thursday: ended intercambio, and did planeamiento semanal. we went to lunch, and we finished, my comp went to get toilet paper from the bathroom to use as a napkin(i dont remember why). but he called me over and told me to look in the toilet. i looked, and his plack fell in the toilet!! haha it was so funny, his plack is breaking, so it desnt stay on super good. this day was another very hot day. we met with one of my comps recent converts who is super cool, and hes a mason...

Friday: we did a grand intercambio, white wash. thats where they send 2 random missionaries from the zone to a random location. and we work there for a day. i was with elder vargas, from santiago. we ended up contacting all day, and it was a small hard sector. 

Saturday: we ended the grand intercambio, and had french tast that the zone leaders made, then we did practices.. we were walking down the street and my comp said we need to knock thisdoor, so we knocked it and its a  long story but her friend just showed up who is a member, so we got in. and it was way cool. 

Sunday: we had church, i had to go up and introduce myself. and there was an hermano wo was sitting behind me and he was speaking to me in english which was cool. we had a huge good lunch, welcome to the big city! haha. we were walking home and thi s random guy stopped me with perfect english. he used to live in new york and left cause thisngs are getting crazy in the states. and he started making upp all this random stuff about the states and how bad it it. then he kinda just left us. it was way weird, i think he might have just fled the states cause he was a criminal or something, but i have no idea. then we also went to a house of the old mission presidents of the osorno chile misison. they are inactive.. ugh.. but that was pretty cool..

well thats my week! happy halloween!! haha we dont celebrate halloween here, some people do, but not much!

Chile ~week 30

okay, now for the moment weve all been waiting for... Transfers..

im sad to say ill be leaving cañete. but then again im excited cause ive been here for 6 monthsd ans am kinda getting bored of it..

but my transfer will be cool.

i will be going to a city called temuco. which i wanted cause i want to go serve in a big city.

im going to be in the zone Temuco Ñielol. in the sector caupolican. 

my comp is latino, his name is elder gordillo from mexico. and i heard hes pretty cool. hes not much older than i am. im still gonna be junior comp, but thats okay cause thats what the savior wants.

but yeah im a little nervous to do my first transfer, but im excited!

Well heres my week!

Tuesday: we had district meeting and took ics (attatched). it was a beautiful sunny day, then it started raining, for about 5-10 mins it poured, like way hard, and flooded the roads, we walked around in ankle high water, so my shoes were soaked, which was pretty lame, i need to invest in some rain boots. we had an intercambio with elder loose, so he coukld meet our investigators. we went to quidico to meet with alejandro and sandra, and they finally told us theyre gonna get married! fnally! but they said they want to wait 6  months to a year. so that made us sad.

Wednesday: we had service in curanilahue, where we moved a bunch of sticks. then we worked the rest of the day.

Thursday: it was way hot, i was melting, and we walked a TON! which was lame. we visited some people during the day. then at night me and my comp were taljking about the second coming and what we thnik. its cool, we like to talk abut doctrine stuff. 

Friday: there was an activity in the church to help raise money for the youth. and i dont remember what elde  we did.

Saturday: we had a baptism!! but it wasnt ours, it was from los alamos cause their church is under construction, so they did it at our buuilding, and for that we had to show up early to fill the font. then this night we heard cambios... which was exciting, im excited to leave, but i barely slept that night cause i was thinking so much..

sunday: was a great day, my last sacrament meeting in cañete, and it was way good, they gave really good talks. then we came home from church and started packing. so thats always fun.

well thats my week, it was good, but my week next week will be a good one, cause im gonna be doing something new!

Chile ~week 29

so this week was a little different, to start, we had rain everyday this week, except wednesday or thursday i believe. one day of 7 without rain, we were way wet, and cold... it was terrible!

second, it ws elder paynes and elder culottas birthday, so we had a bit of fun with some of the members, so i will make sure to send a bunch of pics...

But heres my week!

Tuesday: Rained all day... we went to visit some old investigators and we walked into their garage, and had plants hanging from the celing(just a reminder im a lot taller than the majority of the chileans) and i hit my head on the plants and it fell, and got dirt all over the grund, but it was good cause he forgave me! oops hyha

Wednesday: we had an "attack" here in cañete, where all the missionaries in our zone came to work here. we invited a lot of members, sofia, my recent convert, even came to work with some of us, whichj was way cool because shes only 1 and is way excited to serve a mission! i was wwith elder valenzuela, he got to the mission with me, hes in my group, and he is from santiago,. afterwards we celebrated elder paynes birthday with some cake.. oh and not to mention it rained all day again...

Thursday: today was the only day with sun... we went to quidico again to talk with our investigators about marriage, they told us they were going to have an answer for us by sunday at church. then that night we had a noche de hogar/party with our branch prsident and his family. they bought 2 huge plates of "pichangas" which are french fries, cheese, meat, chichen, and avocado. it was wayyy gooodd!!! but huge, i almost exploded...

Friday: it was my comps birthday, and it rained all day again, by today i was kind of used to the rain, im never gonna be cold there in az ever gain... but we had service in lebu moving dirt around in lebu... then we had another noche de hogar with a family and our recent converts which was way fun, my comp has to pictures so ill try to get them from him...

Saturday: there was a huge storm at night, which kind of scared me. it was like an AZ monsoon, but here in chile, and the houses here arent as good qualty, so i was thinking maybe our house was gonna blow away, but it didnt so were all good... then we also had another birthday party, which was a lot of fun, we played games, and ate some food, it was lots of fun. ill make sure add picsof that one.. 

Sunday: Still raining... until the end of the day! the sun came up for like an hour! it was amazing! i forgot it ezxisted! we were going to go visit an old inactive lady who is way nice and way sweet. my comp decided to pick her flowers... my comp is just like that... and turns out that became the whole topic of our lesson, which is long i wont explain it.. then in the end i told here this next sunday will probably be my last sunday here and we would love it if she came to churhc. so she told me she will fulñfill my desire and go to church! so that made us way happy!

Chile ~week 28

This week was another great week, like always... when is it not?

So heres my week:

Tuesday: We had interviews with our president, which were goof, hes very cool, and very laid back, and my comp said a bunch of good things about me, so president said maybe im ready to train or be senior comp next transfer, so we will see what happens. 

Wednesday: nothing much really happened, we visited some less actves, and were trying to work with their families, but nothing big happened.

Thursday: we had zone meeting, which was pretty cool, then we went out to eat as a zone which was good, we had a good lunch. afterwards we went to quidico again, which was pretty cool, but turns out our investigator wasnt even there, so we wasted money and time going there, but while waiting for a bus we decided to take some pics at the beach.. so ill try to attatch those. 

Friday: we went to curanilahue, which is the hermanas sector, and we did service there for a few hours in the morning, after that i went to los alamos on an intercambio with elder sterri again. we met some interesting people, theyre from a church founded by someone named william branham. it was cool talking to them, ive never heard of that church before, it seemed kind of interesting.. we ended up contacting a lot and founf a bunch of new peple for los alamos.

Saturday: we ended our intercambio, a lot of our plans ended up fallinf which was lame. then we ended up starting our fast, which is a lot harder to fast on the mission, cause we do it for almost 24 hours, and we work all through it..

Sunday: we went to church, they ended up being short on people to pass, so ended up that me and my comp had to pass the sacrament, wwhich was weird, havent done that in like 5 years. then we were starving, so we went and ate lunch finally, and it was HUGE! i thought i was gnna explode! and ended up having to do weekly planning cause we had no other time to do it that week. 

Today: this morning we had a zone activity in Lebu, we watched the movie Book of Life(in spanish) which was pretty good. so yeah my zoe leaders said we could watch movies, so if anyone wants to send me g rated movies, go ahead! afterwards we played games in the area behind he church, it was pretty fun..
