Chile ~week 66

okay, this week was great! we did have a baptism!!! it was awesome! to explain my title "8 month curse" i havent had a bsptism in almost 8 months, but heavenly father finally blessed me with one, so that was awesome!! it was a cool experience that i will mention later..

This week has been soo cold!!! and a bit rainy!! but its definatly the coldest week this year, but its good, i hear its supposed ot start heating up after this!! woohoo!!

But heres my week:

Tuesday: 

we were visiting with Deibit, the kid who got baptized, and we did a pre interview to make sure he knew everything, but then we also had a lesson with Jaime and Jimena again! but nothing else wa special happened!

Wednesday: we had district meeting, then afterwards we had  an intercambio, with our district leader Elder Martinez, frm Argentina.. he got here to chile with me..

Thursday: nothing really interesting...

Friday: we got all the stuff ready for the baptism, had another lesson with Jaime and Jimena..

Saturday.. day of the Baptism!! it was soo good!!! it was nice to finally baptize again! So.. his name is Deibit, he is 11, his mom and sister got baptized a few months ago.. he never did, but now he did! Elder Mende got to Baptize him, and he said when he went under water, he felt "something" and explained it as a spirit! so that was awesome!!

Sunday: We had Deibits Confirmation, and e asked me to confirm him, which was a cool experience, ive never done that before.. thn later in the afternoon, i felt inspired to go to the house of some of our futures.. so we went, and they recieved us real well! it seems like they liked it a lot! so that was awesome!!

Sorry, my email this week is a little shorter, but it was a great week! believe me!! haha

Chile ~week 65

so this week has been a great one, and we have another great one ahead with some great things happening, we will be having a baptism this next weekend, of a kid that the other elders left us when they left... so thats AWESOME!

Well anyways, heres my week:

Tuesday: in the morning we said goodbye to the other elders, that left us, now we have a house of 2, its more boring, but its a LOT easier to foucs.  we had to clean and organize a bit cause they left the house a mess, then we ended the night with mission correlation.,

Wednesday: we had district meeting, met the new zone, its cool, we have a good zone now.. we had some citas fall, so that was kinda lame, but nothing really special happened..

Thursday: we did weekly planning, then we went to an appointment in the afternoon, it was with this lady, then her friend came over, then another friend came over, it was  kinda awkward, but we got some new invesstigagots from that. then that night we had a lesson with Jaime and Jimena, it was good, but at the beginning we did not feel the spirit and we didnt know why..  after the lesson they explained to us a family situation that it going on.. and explained that it might feel different in the house.. but told us that they really feel good when we come, so that was an awesome experience. 

Friday: was a busy day, we had a lesson with Mariela and Debit. Debit is the one who will be baptized, we have to teach him a lot of lessons in not a lot of time.. so its kinda crazy! then on our way through the street, i heard like a loud squak, or like a squeel, so i looked into that direction and i saw a van, i thought it blew a tire, but as it drove off i noticed it  left behind a dog! there was a pretty good sized dog that got run over!!! haha it stood up and was going nuts then fell to the ground.. it was crazy! after that we had a lesson with a less actve, and we went to a small town outside of the main part of our area, and we taught a lady from paraguay, who was from the other elders..

Saturday: we taught Debit again, then after lunch we came home, i was feeling terrible, i got hit hard with a cold, so i took a little nap then we went out to work again, then after that we tught some more of the other elders old investigators, we shared the video of the restoration. 

Sunday: we had church, and Debit came! so after church we passed by for the mission leaders house to plan the baptism. but thats really it..

Well thats our week, its been a good one, and we have another good one coming up!

Chile ~week 64

okay so this week was a little hard to work, it was the championships of all champions is soccer, and chile made it to the championships, but barely lost... but during the games, literally no one is outside,so its crazy!!!

Well anyways, heres my week:

Tuesday: we had district meeting, it was sad, we said bye to everyone that wouyld be leaving, but its all good, we then went to lunch, contacted for a bit, then we had mission carrelation, and our mission leader didnt show up, so we called the hermanas, and they told us he cancelled it, but nobody told us!! haha so that was just awesome!! hahah

Wednesday: we had studies, lunch, we had a cita fall, we contacted a bit, but the streets were dead cause it was the semi finals against portugal, and they won!! but nobody was outside, so that was lame.. out pther appointment fell, so we contacted more, thena t night we went to ward council.

Thursday: we went out contacting and we found a, inactive fam, which was really cool, shes gonna get married soon, and her boyfriend isnt a member yet, soo.... well just have to baptize him. then we had a lesson with some of our investigators, Jaime and Jimena, and it was a good lesson, as we were walking home, it started to rain, and this guy stopped by and drove us home, turns out hes not a member but has a lot of family that is.. 

Friday: we left to work and i got "bit" by a dog, i forgot about this house that has a dog, and we were walking, and i felt something psuh me kinda, in the corner of my eye. i looked down and the dog was moving its head back, but the bite didnt hurt me, it bit my watch!! it saved me!!! haha... then in the afternoon again we found another less active who wants to get married to her boyfirned also, and hes also not a member... then we ended the day with a ward activity so that was fun!

Saturday: Not much happened, we jsut contacted forever.

Sunday: We had church in the morning, and we had one investigator come, it was jaime, and he seemed to like it, with his 2 kids. after church we went to lunch, then we passed by for jaime and jimena, and jimena couldnt come cause she was sick, so we gave her a blessing, and we talked about church, to my suprise jaime loved it! he kept telling her she would love it too, and they he didnt want to go, but he prayed and felt he should go, he was really suprised he said, he said you really can feel the spirit  of god there. so that was super cool!!! theyre planning on coming again next week!!!

But thats our week this week, were also gonna have cambios, me and elder mende are staying the same, the other 2 elders are leaving, they closed their area, so theyre leaving us their investigators, so thats cool!!! im excited to be herer another cambio!!

Chile ~week 63

This week has been even more rainy, i think we had one day that had a little but of sun, but the rest was cloudy or rainy, its been raining a lot more this week, than it hasnt been raining this week... its so wet here!!!

Well heres my week:

Tuesday: we had interviews with president, so that was awesome! we had a lesson with one of our news from a few weeks ago, marina, we talked about the book of mormon, we had a good lesson, we will see if she wants to progress, and will keep her commitments. then we ended the night with mission correlation. 

Wednesday: we had district meeting, we went and visited some futures, in the rain... something i have realized here on the misison.. whenever it rains(as of a trial) we recieve blessings, from being diligent, and from doing hard things... so that was a neat experience. 

Thursday: nothing much happened, we founf a recent convert from concepción mission, she moved to our area, and shes prettty cool, but we will see if we will be able to get her back to church.

Friday: we had an interesting experience, we had to wake up early to go to the office for "return and report" something for the new missionaries in their training. and on the way there, i was scared we were going to missi our bus, but i also felt comforted, because i had planned everything to be able to get there on time or early, so i knew becasue i had made a plan, that heavenly father was going to help us get there.. so that was a neat little experience we had, then we went to concepción and had a great meeting, it was really good. 

Saturday: we had another great day, another one ful of rain, but thats okay.. we didnt have anything really set for the day, so we decided to pass by for our futures, and our investigators, but one of them answered us... so we finished the  night visiting with a part member family...

Sunday: it was a great day!!! we had church, and my converts from Cañete came to visit me! i love them so much, theyre such an awesome family!! after church we had a big lunch. then we had studies and contctd for a bit at night.

Buyt thats really my week, its been a good one, and a wet one!  

Chile ~week 62

okay so this week was good, but reeaalllyyy cold!! we even got a little bit of "snow" haha... its not really snow but looks a lot like it, the whole ground jusst froze over...

but anyways... heres my week:

Tuesday: we had district meeting, mission correlation, nothing too exciting...

Wednesday: we went with an hermana from the ward, she brought us to her friends house, and we were able to teach her, we had a good lesson!! we felt the spirit so strong! but she couldnt come to church cause of fathers day... boo...

Thursday: we has a multi zone conference again, and so that was awesome, i got to see a bunch of old friends.. and even 5 of my 6 companions!! soo that was fun!! we also took a generation pic, me and my trainer, and my trainee, the 3 generations after we had to work, and it was raining sooo  hard!!! so windy and so much rain!!! it was crazy!!! but always when it rains we always see miracles, we were able to find 3 news, that day, which was awesome!!

Friday: another day of rain and wind, it was like 2 whole days non stop.. crazy... we did an intercambio, i was with elder lighthall from california... we contacted, fund 2 news for them, then we went to a ward activity..

Saturday: nothing realy interesting happened, but it wasnt rainy the whole day which was awesome!

Sunday: so todays the day we saw snow, it was sooo coold that morning!! then we went to church, i spoke again, im getting better at it, not really nervous anymore, which is nice.,. and for all those fathers out there HAPPY FATHERS DAY!! especially to my awesome dad!

well thats basically our week, it was good, were working on our coldness, but were getting there.. so its all good..

Chile ~week 61

so this week was a pretty good one, with a bit of rain, a bit of cold, a bit of wind, but were surviving.. it doesnt seem as cold this year as last year, which is amazing!!

anyways, heres my week:

tuesday: today was a great day, we had studies, then we went to do a service project, where we helped a member paint a few of her walls, then in the afternoon we were albe to contact and have mission corelation.

Wednesday: we had district meeting, and the assistants came, so that was cool to see them. we went to the sector of nacimiento, where my old companion Elder culotta is right now, to help them with a ward activity. where my companion dresed up as a begger, and was outside asking all of the members for money as they entered, in the family night they talked about charity then brought in my companion when he revealed himself, and all the members were giving excuses for why they didnt help and stuff ike that... and afterwards they all felt bad and it was a great lesson, i liked it a lot..

thursday: we had a good weely planning, then in the afternoon we contacted a bit.. 

friday: we were contacting a bit, then went to ask a member t use the bathroom, and then she took us along with here to get to kow some of her neighbors, which is cool, we were able to put some appointments with them..

Saturday: we has an appointmen in the aternoon, and so we taught this lady we founf the week before, we also challenged her to baptism, but didnt accept cause she wnts to know first, but well get her someday, haa, then we went out and contacted a bit more..

Sunday: we had church in the morning, then we had an appointment fall, so we went to contact, and guess what! we found another new!! so that was awesome, then we returned home at night, just exhausted and did our studies... 

but this week had been a good one, were a little bit sick, just with a little cold, just cause its cold here, but its not bad, were workin anyways! but it was a great week!!

Chile ~week 60

this week was awesome, especially this morning!! But i wont spoil it yet.. soo.. heres my week:

Tuesday: district meeting, we went to contact, we were able to find someone, and we tught him, and we was like way good!!! he told us he recieved an answer and that he knows our church is true, but in the end, apprently he was an investigator of the other elders... ugh... and then he acted lkike the lesson didnt even happen to them.. so lame!! haha but it was good practice for elder Mende. we did a bit of studies, then we went to ward council, so we got to meet a few of the ward leaders which was good.

Wednesday: it was a good day, we were contacting in the afternoon, and we didnt go so good in the afternoon, but later on, we figured out how to have "the vision".. we would quietly chant baptism whenever we had the chance, then we suddenly started finding a lot better of people! it was awesome!

Thursday: weekly planning, in the afternoon we had some appointments fall, so we contacted, and we said a prayer, then taught some guy, and we were able to put a baptismal dte with him! but he wasnt able to come to church, so that was lame..

Friday: We had a gran intercambio as a zone, i was with Elder Gerber.  and also, all the appointments we had had, also fell, so we contacted and visited some cool old investigators, but he didnt ant us to come back, but he was really nice.. then at night i was able to make sushi again, im getting pretty good at it.. and it tastes good! haha

Saturday: it started raining so much and so hard, and we got soaked!! but we didnt want to go home, so we kept working, and doing our "vision" thing again, and in the end, we found someone WAY good!!! so that was very exciting!! and we also put a baptismal date with her, her name is Carina, but she also couldnt come to church, but well see her again tomorrow, so well invite her again.. 

Sunday: we had church, we presented ourselves, aand i was a bit nervous, not too bad.. then we contacted a bit more..

Today: so far today has been awesopme! we went to a place this morning called salto de laja.. so ill be sending a bunch of pics about that! and it was cool cause it reminded of of the grand canyon in havasupai!

well ill say it again! its been a great week!!!!
