Chile ~week 9

okay some things i forgot to say last week is that our mission president isnt president bluth, he got sick and had to go home early, so right now we have a new mission president from here in chile for a few months. last week we found out our trainer by sitting on balloons that had their name inside. all the missionaries in my mission, the majority of them are gringos, which is pretty cool, i thought thered be mostly latins. we have a really big house for missionaries, so its always super cold at night, we can see our breath. i was a little sick last week and am still recovering, its just a cold so i think its because of how cold it is  here. we go on splits with our branch here, we have some cool members, but our branch is huge, we have a few thousand members, but only like 100 show up.. members feed us lunch every week and theyre big lunches.. so im always full, but were not allowed to eat with the members. the houses here are weird, everyone has nice phones and tv´s but their houses look poor. we have to have fireplaces or gas stoves to keep out house warm.

okay now this week,
it was super cool, on th 17th whatever day that is, we had a little earth quake, it only lasted like 5or 10 seconds! but it was super cool, it was rated a 5.4, it shook our whole house! im finding theres a lot of missionaries from AZ in my mission, ive already met at least 3 or 4, a few days ago we prayed to see which street we go down. we didnt reeally know, my companion felt inspired to go down this small street, at the end there was this huge white dog that looked like a polar bear, it was huge and scary. it ran out of the garage and was coming after us, i booked it.. my companion stayed there and was trying to block the bites and jabs with his bag... after what felt like forever but was probably just a few seconds the owner came out and saved us! phew! i was so scared, we are both antsy with dogs now, they just dont like us, sometimes they gorlw and bark at us and chase us, idk why its really annoying, i dont like dogs as much as i did before.we have 2 investigators who agreed to be baptized but we still need to teach them, my companion does most the teaching, because its still hard for me to understand chilen spanish, i feel like i can speak okay, its just dificult to undeerstand them. but everybody says my spanish is good so far for only 2 weeks.. well nothing else really exciting happened this week! except that a random dog appreaed in our back yard and then disappreared, i got a picture of it. but yeah, we went contacting and knocking doors a lot, i did inter cambios again and went to lebu.. today for lunch i ate a sweet hamburger thing, its chilean and i forgot wht theyre called though.but yeah thats it! sorry for the spelling mistakes, the key boards here are terrible! well everyone have a good week!

Chile ~week 8

all these weeks are going by super fast, and i cant believe it! but this week was good, nothing really big happened, we had zone conference, it rained A LOT! and i got a haircut last week, i do lots of walking so my implants in my shoes are breaking... which isnt super good... we do lots of contacting and its hard ot teach our converts because they always leave to the campo, we dont really even know what that is... but then they come home and we teach them more. almost everybody here is evangelical. its hard to teach evangelicals because their pastors tell them not to talk to other religions because we speak evil, but then there are some that listen to us anyways and we get a few lessons with them, thats where we are at right now, we dont have any baptisms coming up because its hard to get people to go to church. i will try to write a lot more about our week next week when we have more stuff to talk about, and hopefully our investigators will be home. but yeah sorry for not much in this email dont have much time but i have lots of pictures to send! in here is a pic of me and my comp
Have a good week everyone!

Chile ~week 7

Okay guys, I'm going to apologize for not emailing last week, I was supposed to email, but I was flying all day and night here to Colombia. my mission is pretty sweet, I have pictures from the MTC and pictures of my house here, and pictures from 3 weeks ago from when I couldn't send them. But here in Chile is super cool, its really cold where I'm at the the air seems super polluted it always bothers my eyes. But everyone's houses are small and packed with stuff, everything here is kind of dirty ans there are dogs EVERYWHERE!! some of the dogs here try to jump into the sides of cars when they're driving which is kind of scary. My first area is in ca city called CaƱete. my trainers name is Elder Willey from Utah. He's been out 7 months. I got here and Chilean Spanish is way different, I can barely understand anything, but everyday it gets easier and easier. I just tried to see if I could send pictures but I cant find out how. So if you don't receive any I'll try again to send next week! My its great to hear about everything that's happening at home. We already have a few investigators and members here always feed us which is good, I got to go to another city called Lebu. Its on the coast, we had splits or intercambios with the zone leaders since my companion is the district leader. So it was good to be with other missionaries and a new zone. But Chile is super cool, its good to be in the mission life, the members always feed us and give us pasta and chicken and rice. Yesterday in church I got called up to introduce myself, so I tried my hardest in Spanish and everyone told me I did good, which is good, my Spanish is coming super fast already, everyone tells me they're surprised how good it is already. Well I just wanted to let you all know how I'm doing, if you have questions email me! Ciao! have a good week!

MTC~ week 6 and off to CHILE!!

We were able to talk with Garrett on Saturday before Mother's Day. It was so fun to hear him and to hear how much he loves serving a mission. He has loved being in the MTC and has loved getting to know all the Latino's. He's thinks their pretty great! Haha! He even sang a spanish song to Bentley! Haha! It was so awesome to talk to him.

We didn't get a regular email from Garrett because he was on his way to Chile. He did however get to call us for 1 minute and a few seconds with his leftover money eating lunch at Burger King. Haha!

MTC ~week 5

T-1 more week!

Its crazy to think I have one more week!! This week was pretty normal though, except that it rained a lot! sorry I don't think I will be able to send pictures this week, because the computer I'm on wont read my card :( but if someone will switch me in a little bit I will try to do it. but this week was pretty much the same as normal, rice for almost every meal, and classes. my Spanish is still getting better! I feel pretty proud, but I know once I get to Chile my thoughts will change! A few days ago we watched a broadcast from Provo, and we thought it was funny how much people are there, their choir was like 10 times bigger than our whole MTC, haha, but my emails this week might be short because not much happened which is kind of sad.... sorry..... but one week til Chile!! Wooho!! I have made so many friends here, we went to the temple again! on Sunday was fast Sunday so here we fasted from lunch on Saturday to lunch on Sunday, it was kinda hard but not really! It is my last pday here in Colombia, so next time I write I will be in Chile!! I honestly cant wait!! Well I wish everyone a good week! I'll try to send lot more pictures next week! If I can!
