Chile ~week 56

So this week was awesome! by what my title says im sure you guys got excited... maybe not, but i sure was.. Russell m nelson(president of the 12 apostles) came down here to concepción chile.. and he talked with us and gave us a little capacitation. so that was AWESOME!! i got to shake his hand and everything!! it was pretty cool!

But anyways, heres my week:

Tuesday:

We had district meeting, something interesting happened to me. in the afternoon we were going to do an inspired street. where we pray about a street and then contact it.. nothing really happened. but as im getting older and definetly wiser, im noticing a lot more How god works.. sometimes he gives us things that seem like the thing to do.. but we dont see any fruits form it. and i think its all like an attitude check, or like a test of faith.. so ive founf that interesting this week..

Wednesday: 

It was an interesting day, it was the census here in chile.. so we had to stay in all day, or the majority, and have like a pday.. and the mission wanted us to do a deep clean of the house(which was good cause i got to the house here and it was gross, we didnt even finish cleaning), and it was also cool to act in that census.. afterwards we went and got our haircut, then that night we went to a fmaily, where the dad is inactive and his daughtr is 9, so were gonna see if we can have any luck with them!

Thursday:

There was an hermana who needed help with english, so we went to help him witht that. we contacted the streets Estados Unidos(united states) and uruguay. we kinda just wanted to contact our streets form where were from. and we actually had quite a bit of success, we founf some future investigators, and we had found 2 news aswell. 

Friday: We went to the church in the morning, then left to concepción. for that conference we had, with russell m nelson, it was awesome!!!! he talked about the book of mormon, and called some missionaries up to do an activity, he asked them what their life would be like without the book of mormon. after the conference it was cool cause i got to see all my mision buddies, and all my old comps..

Saturday:

we assisted the baptism of Gabirel, from the hermanas in our ward, it was a cool baptism, my comp baptized him. but it was still cool.. but besides that tyheres nothing really happened.

Sunday: Interesting day.. we had church, and us misisonaries were supposed to spoke.. but to say it quickly, the hermana that spoke first spoke for awhile, so i lucked out and didnt have to speak! then that night i finally got ot meet some of our investigadores, and we had a god lesson with them!

But sorry i dpnt have much more time! 

so...

Chile ~week 55

This week was pretty eventful, lots of cool things happened, transfers, new area, new companion, but it was a good one!!

Heres my week!

Tuesday: we had transfers, so i traveled like 3 hours That morning. then around like 12ish i arrived here in Los Angeles! we didnt do much, i unpacked a bit, then we left for lunch and to get to meet a few members.

Wednesday: we had studies, we founf a kind of old lady who recently returned from vaction from miami, so that was a bit cool... then we contacted the rest of the day.

Thursday: Weekly Planning, More Contact, then we visited and shared with a family about how to find references, then went back to contacting...

Friday: we had to leave early to go to district meeting, we did it in a place called laja, because afterwards we did an attack for them there. so we then did a bunch of contacting there. but i got to work with our district leader, Elder Contreras a bit, hes from honduras, so that was cool. 

Saturday: Not much happened, contacted quite a bit again, then had mission correlation, so it was good to meet our mission leader.. after that i was talking with him, when his friend walked in, who had served in the same mission as kami! so that was cool, i got to meet someone that knows her! then we went back to contact. 

Sunday: We had Church, i had to go and present myself, and it was a little more nerve racking this time cause this ward is a lot bigger than my last... so i was kinda nervous, but its a really good ward. afterwards we had lunch, then we started a fast, so we will be able to find people to teach, weve been struggling iwith that here in this area. we went ot a less actives house, and his cousin was there, hes adventist, so we talked to him for awhile, and i found there that m,y companion knows a lot about the bible, and we kind of proved our church is the correct one, but wasnt a bible bash, so it was okay. Then we left to contact a bit more, then we founf this guy named francisco in the street, we talked to him in the street for awhile, hes kinda of a strong catholic, so that time it was kind of a bible bash. which wasnt good, it was just a bunch of wasted time. but i also did find our even more about my companions bible skills. after that it was late so we had to go home..

Chile ~week 54

So, as says my title, we have transfers, and sfter 6 months in my second sector, im getting transferred again. i will be going to California, not really, but i am going to Los Angeles(Chile) haha.. I am going to the zone of Los Angeles north, in the area of villa obispo. i have heard good things about it, so im excited, my companion, is from uruguay, i dont know him yet, his name is Elder Machado. he will go home is about 4 months so thats cool..

Well this week, was a good one as usual, good things happened, so here it is:

Tuesday:
We did an intercambio, i was with Elder Castro, fom Buenos Aires Argentina, in porters mission actually, so thats cool, we had a good intercambio, we found 2 news, so thats good, in the night w had a lesson with Juani, and we told it to her straight, she needs to read the book of mormon and pray about it if she wants to believe pur message is true, ans apparently she never understood that before, so we will see how that goes!

Wednesday:

We finished the intercambio, and had lunch in the house, no members signed up :( we later contacted then went and taught esteban, it was good, we had a good lesson, weve realized we need to be more straight with him, so we are going to try to do that, or at least my companion will try... im gonna miss these investigsators we have, and the area, but then again no, cause 6 months is a lot in one area, so im kinda ready to leave..

Thursday: 

It started the day sunny, then we went to zone meeting, and had a good time, then after it was pouring, and rained for the rest of the day, so we got soaked, which was not fun at all!

Friday: we did weekly planning, then lunch, then it started raiing pretty hard again, another day full pf getting soaked, i guess were entering winter here... We contacted a bit in the rain, and some old crazy guy let us in, theat happens every oce in a while here, old people who are not with it let you in and just talk and talk, so we had to try to get out, haha so that was fun. then we went and me an investigator of the hermanas, then other hermanas had a baptismal interview, so that took the rest of the night..

Saturday:

We started with studies, then we cleaned the pila bautismal again for the capilla abierta. then we had the capilla abierta, and it was good, me and elder buglioni(chilean) were in charge of the baptismal font again, afterwards we had a baptism from the elders in Lautaro, then we returned home and waited for cambios, anxiously waiting..

Sunday: I didnt sleep vry good cause of thinking about cambios, but always happens, then we went to church and no investigator came, then for lunch we had brazilian food, cause a member from our ward is from there.. so that was cool. after we went to the baptosm of the hermanas, then we went to say goodbye to some families, which was nice, im gonna miss this area..

Today: this morning we just went to the registro civil so i can renew my visa here, then after were writing, then were gonna go eat then home to pack...

But its been a great week!!  and im excited for this new one comoing, to meet new placed and people!! and to try new things!! so, I hope you all have a good week aswell!!

Chile ~week 53

This week was a pretty eventful week!

as in my title, i hit one year this week, i am not a one eyar old missionary.

We also had our capilla abierta activity this week, or open church.

And then conference... it was a good one!

This week:

Tuesday: We had district meeting, there was an hermana who didnt feel good, so she asked us for a blessing, i did the blessing part, and it was cool, afterwards she told me that i said a phrase from her patriarchal blessing, so that was pretty cool! That night we had a lesson with an investigatir named Juani, shes very big on the bible, so were trying to help her understand the book of mormon, we taught her a few things but its hard for her to understand that. so well keep trying!

Wednesday: we didnt do much, we went and met an investigator from another area, and she was good, she will probably get baptized soon but thats basically everything interesting we did.

Thursday: I had my one year birthday!! woohoo!!! haha time flies! we had an intercambio, with the zone leadeers, i was with Elder Barco, from mexico. on the intercambio, we tlked to some of their investigators, and i almost got bit by a dog, it rushed up at us, then i turned around and it got scared, but stayed there barking and growling until the family(lesss actives we were visiting) came and let us in their house.

Friday: in the morning we went to clean the baptismal font for the capilla abierta, and then in the afteroon we did it, it was good, me and my companion were in charge of introducing the baptismal font, so we were dressed in our whites, and talked to the people about baptism, it was pretty good, i relly liked it, ill attatch photos.

Saturday: we watched conference all day, but it was reaallllyyy goodd!! i loved it!

Sunday: same thing, until the afternoon, we visited esteban and his famiy, then we went to these crazy people my companion founf on the intercambio.. it was weird, i think they were all high, like drugged up.. and they would just talk about weird doctrinal things..  but that seems like a common pattern here in the big city..

But yeah, thats basically our week we had, it was good like always!!! hpe you all enjoyed conference.

Chile ~ Week 52

This week was such a good one, ive been thinking a lot about a scripture my dad shared with me, 1 Sam 15:22, its a good one, i recommend it! haha. its about the obedience, and it really is important, its what brings the blessings!!

Well heres my week:

Tuesday: we had district meeting, and afterwards we went on a gran intercambio, white wash, where we all went to a different sector, and with a different comp.. i went with elder Montoya, from here in chile, and we were in lautaro.. it was good, we founf one new for the elders there.... 

Wednesday: we returned from the Intercambio, We came home to a house filthy(we had cleaned it on monday) so that was really awesome, not really... then we went to the sector of the hermanas in our district so my comp could get to know some of their investigators.. then we contacted a bit in our sector..

Thursday: Me and my comp, in the morning we had to go pay for the gas, cause they shut it off(yes i had a cold shower, and yes, now were broke) Then we went to Danixa, and had a good lesson, shes starting to understand a little bit. Then we saved our studies to that night cause there was a Chile vs. Argentina game, and we lost... boo!! but its okay it was just a small game, not like the 2 championships we won!! haha

Friday: We had studies, then went to lunch, at lunch the hermana told me i look a lot more spiritual, so that made me happy, im trying to be more spiritual, and it happens as you learn about the gospel. Then we had a lesson with Esteban, he is smoking a ot less, and is going to attempt to leave smoking this week, so keep him in your prayers!! 

Saturday: Nothing way interesting happened, but one of the many drunks in the street started talking to us, and after when we said bye, he came and hugged me, oh that was lot of fun, haha not really... 

Sunday: had ot go to church in the rain.. and we had no one come to church, so ughh... not very fun, then we had an attack in Vilcún, and we founf a new investigator for them aswell, thn we came home late and went straight to the house..

Today: we had our zone activity this morning and we played volleyball and dodgeball, it was pretty fun..

Sorry nothing really interesting happened this week, so sorry if its kinda boring XD

Chile ~WEEK 51

Hey everyone, this week was great! nothing way crazy happened, but its always a great week in the time of our savior!

Monday: our investigator christian wasnt progressing so well, hes a way nice guy and everything, but we decided to give him the decision if he wants to listen to us more or not, so we left with with some homework, and when he does it he can call us and tell us to comeover, but until then, were not going over any more...

Tuesday: we had district meeting, then we did an intercambio, i was with an elder Chico, from Mexico.. we had a good day, a bit of contacting, English classes which were funny, Elder Chico knows a bit of english, so it was nothing new to him. but our faithful student Luis, hes a little challenged mentally i think, we always are nice to him and joke with him, so he loves us. hes a pretty fat guy, just an important note for the story... so we were talking about health, so i asked him how his stomach feels, and he looked at me confused... i said it again, same thing, then a 3rd time... and he replied fat? haha, it was so funy. 

Wednesday: we had another multi zone conference, with 4 zones... we learned a lot! we are going to start putting a big focus on family history here in the misison, try to baptize with a focus on that... so were excited! we left to contact, we found some good potential investigators..

Thursday: Nothing way special happened, we had a lesson with Danixa, we talked about the word of wisdom, and she finally commited to live it... we told her the blessings we recieve when were obedient, and she wanted them... i dont know what 12 year olds are doing drinking coffee here anyways, everyone drinks it... 

Friday: we walked a looott... we were determined to take a day and contact a lot of references and find news.. so we walked all around centro, and finally arrived at a reference, and the house didnt exist... so we took a bus back.. then we had a cita fall, so we walked around more.. we were dead, but at least the day ended good.. i found 1.000 pesos on the ground again!! hah

Saturday: we were preparing for an attack that we had in our sector. then we also started to fast, we did a zone fast. but yeah, nothing really interesting happened.

Sunday: Esteban came to church again, 4th time!! wooho! then in the after noon we had the attack, a few companionships came and we all left to other parts, and it worked good..

but i dont have muhc time left, so...

Chile ~WEEK 50

This was a great week, as always, im learning and growing more and more every day.. its amazing that with the gospel you can feel so happy and make the best decisions and be confident about it...

But heres my week:

Tuesday: we had zone meeting, we contacted a bit, had english, a normal day, nothing real interesting happened.

Wednesday: Was a weird day, was rainy and sunny on and off all day, there were even times where it was raining and the sun was shining so brightly, we dont even know how it was raining... haha, we had a good contact with some black guy who didnt even speak english or spanish, we think he was speaking something like french... but were not sure... the we went to a recent converts house and did a little scripture study..

Thursday: studies, weekly planning, a normal day, until we had english.. our first successful english class.. we had 5 students, 4 were members, and our investigator christian came, and he liked it and said he will come again on tuesday, so thats great!

Friday: we had interviews with president, and it was good, its always nice to know that we can talk to him and share with him.. and to notice that he really is a good man that cares about all of us... afterwards we practiced the song were gonna sing for zone conference this week.. its gonna be with 4 zones again.. so thats exciting! we contacted a bit, then went to estebans house, right as he was leaving.. we shared a bit with his uncle whos less active, then we shared with esteban when he came back, we were able to set a baptismal date, whiwh is good, he needs to stop smoking, but hes been doing good on that.. so we should have a baptism here soon!!!

Saturday: we had studies, contacted a bit.. then went to lunch, at lunch they showed us the new restoration video, it was pretty col, i like the style, but i dont know how good its be to show to a lot of people... but it was really interesting... then on the way to do english classes i found 1000 pesos on the ground, which is like a bit more that a dollar... which was cool, i seem to always find money on the ground here... my comps hate it!! XD then we were ablt to contact a bit more until we went to the blanco family, who has a daughter Danixe who is not a member, but is kinda interested, nd he family wants her baptized, so were gonna see what we cad to there. we had a good lesson with here, so thats good!

Sunday: Church, Esteban was the only one who ended up coming, then we had lunch, then we did an attack(where we all work in the same sector) for the hermanas in the sector of Ñelol, it went okay.. then we returned home to plan.

So far today weve played soccer, which was fun, a good workout..

But yeah another good week, were doing good things, making good choices, and were being happy, or at least doing our best to. hope you all have a great week, just like we do here!!
